Centaur Analytics opens advance registration for a limited release of its Internet-of-Crops Platform beta for farmers, grain traders, and food processing companies, with anticipated availability beginning in April 2017.

VENTURA, CALIFORNIA — March 10, 2017 —- Centaur Analytics, a leading AgTech company that provides real-time, crops monitoring and protection solutions, today announced it has opened advanced registration for its signature software platform to qualified beta users, for free. The platform is ideal for farmers, grain traders and food processing companies that seek to monitor and analyze post-harvest crop storage conditions for maize, wheat, barley, soybean, rice and tobacco. Beta participants will enjoy free use for a period of 6-months with pricing for the full product release to be announced in due course .

Centaur’s offering is the first Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product release in its Internet-of- Crops platform, which is connecting harvested crops using wireless cloud technology for a safer and abundant food supply. Centaur’s proprietary platform invites the staple industry of agriculture to meet the digital age with a range of data analytics capabilities that work from any device or web browser, with this initial release optimized for tablet and smartphone access.

After leaving the field, 17% of the world’s food products spoil from infestation, storage conditions and weather. It’s a loss that affects both developed and developing countries, and costs nearly $1 trillion annually. Using real-time data from sensors that move with each crop, Centaur gives the food industry an unprecedented capacity to track, monitor, and instantly adjust the conditions in which the world’s food is stored, preventing spoilage and reducing unnecessary chemical use. The beta release of the software is the first step in realizing Centaur’s mission to reduce post-harvest crop losses while increasing food traceability and global food security.

Dr. Sotiris Bantas, President & CEO of Centaur, said: “We are thrilled to make our Internet-of- Crops platform immediately available for free to qualified beta users. We are confident that our early adopters will enjoy immediate visibility of their crops, have access to powerful prescriptive measures and as design partners will contribute data to enhance the performance of our cognitive technology for the benefit of our global community. This marks our commitment to reducing spoilage in harvested crops worldwide, by applying the latest technology in IoT and Data Science.”
