PRESS RELEASE

Centaur and Loulis Food Ingredients showcase the role of Artificial Intelligence in modern grain and flour management

Loulis Food Ingredients, one of the oldest and most technologically advanced companies in the Greek flour-milling industry, has for years used Centaur Analytics’ Internet-of-Crops® platform to monitor and optimize grain product protection at its facilities.

In late 2024, the partnership expanded to the company’s facilities in Sourpi, with an extensive network of wireless sensors and continuous monitoring systems. The system collects critical data in real time, including CO₂ levels, temperature, humidity and ambient conditions. It covers the grain storage areas as well as the logistics and finished-product warehousing. This holistic management of grain inventories comes from close collaboration between Centaur and the Quality Assurance & Production Department of Loulis Food Ingredients.

The Internet-of-Crops® platform uses Artificial Intelligence, predictive analytics and digital twin modeling. With it, the Loulis Food Ingredients team can:

• detect early any deviations that could affect quality
• optimize storage conditions
• support quality and traceability processes
• reduce operating costs and product losses
• make decisions based on data and predictive models

“At Loulis Food Ingredients, we continuously invest in technologies that strengthen the quality, safety and traceability of our raw materials. Centaur’s Internet-of-Crops® platform gives us a continuous and reliable view of storage conditions. At the same time, we use advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence tools to support critical quality decisions early, ensuring compliance with strict safety and hygiene protocols for raw-material handling.”

This deployment is a clear example of how AI-driven monitoring and intelligent data analysis can improve sustainability, efficiency and quality in the food industry.

For Centaur, the long-standing partnership with Loulis Food Ingredients shows the value that Greek deep-tech innovation can bring to critical industrial applications built to international standards.
